The first 40 years of my own conscience formation was directed primarily by my parish priest Monsignor DeBlanc (born October 17), who was an advisor to Pope JP II (a Protonotary Apostolic). When he was the National Catholic Family Life Bureau director, Time magazine (July 4, 1960), reported that “He sees signs that many Catholics may gradually abandon the teachings of their church and accept the customs of the secular society in which they live.”

We know now that Monsignor DeBlanc was right about that. To exercise our free will, we must act on our conscience. Catholic doctrine insists upon it, but with a good understanding of a duty to form your conscience properly through study, reflection and prayer. Following your conscience knowing that it will not prevent error is also important. As you receive practical assistance for living out healthy and holy sexuality, you will learn to recognize your errors in thinking, errors in approach, and errors in judgment. You must be open to correction, in need of forgiveness, and always beginning again.

     “Associate with a religious man, who you are sure keeps the commandments; who is like-minded with yourself and will feel for you if you fall.” Sirach 37:12

My life has been blessed by the friendship of Father John Bonavitacola, a courageous moral leader, and Sister Colleen Braun, a lady of remarkable humility. We offer you the fruit of our own spiritual lives to assist you in your journey. Together we pray that you will grow in your ability to trust in the goodness of the guidance of the Catholic Church regarding sexual ethics.

Humanly Possible is a community of men and women responding in mercy to the injustice of sexual immorality. People committed to healthy and holy sexual attitudes and behavior grow in their ability to understand, defend and promote sexual ethics. Online access to research that validates the wisdom of the Catholic Church is offered to assist priests, sisters, brothers, married and single people. The mission is to rehabilitate chastity (to restore its good reputation). The vision is chaste living as a spiritual work of mercy against the injustice of sexual immorality. Social support groups and spiritual direction are available for members.
