Children's Faith Formation Programs
Planting Seeds Program is a faith formation program for children who are in 1st Grade and anticipating sacramental preparation. In this program the children will receive an introduction to prayer life, History of Salvation, Sacred Scriptures, and the Holy Mass.
We will meet every Sunday from 10:15-11:30am. The first class will begin with an orientation for children and parents/caretaker on Sep 12, 2021 and will end on May 1, 2022.
Requirements:
- The family must be a registered member of Our Lady of the Mount Carmel
- Attend Sunday Mass at least weekly and on Holy Days of Obligation
Program Fees: $60 per child
No cost for child(ren) who are enrolled in OLMC’s Stewardship Family
These fees can be paid in full on the registration/ orientation day.
All checks should be made payable to OLMC.
Please let us know on the day of registration if a scholarship will be needed.
The Young Apostles Formation Program is for children who want to follow Jesus Christ more closely through serving Him in the Church and helping Him spread the Kingdom of God. This program aims to help the children:
- deepen their friendship with Jesus Christ and the love of the Church,
- develop the understanding of their baptismal dignity and their call to holiness,
- acquire skills to evangelize and spread the Kingdom of God, and
- serve in the parish and the needy.
We will meet every Sunday from 10:15-11:30am. The first class will begin with an orientation on August 29, 2021 and will end on May 1, 2022.
Requirements:
- Children must have already received all the Sacraments of Initiation.
- The family must be a registered member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
- Attend Sunday Mass at least weekly and on Holy Days of Obligation.
Program Fees:
- One child: $60
- Two children: $100
- Three or more: $150
- Children who belong to OLMC’s Stewardship Family: No Cost

Our sacramental preparation program consists of weekly catechesis for the child and parent on Sunday and for the youth on Tuesday.
Year A: Preparation for Sacrament of Reconciliation
The first year, the child will learn about Salvation History, draw closer to Christ in the Eucharist through monthly adoration, and prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. At the end of the year, they will partake in the Penitential Service.
Year B: Preparation for Sacrament of First Eucharist and Confirmation
The second year, the child will prepare for their Confirmation and First Eucharist. They will learn about the Saints, choose one as a patron, and work on a project relating to their chosen saint. They will also learn about the many Eucharistic Miracles throughout the world and will choose one to present.

Requirements:
- Attend Sunday Mass at least weekly and on Holy Days of Obligation
- The family must be a registered member of Our Lady of the Mount Carmel
- Every family is required to join the Remind app for communication purposes
- Regular attendance is required. If a student goes over 3 absences they must meet with Sr. Po-Yee.
- Students are required to attend 15 minutes of adoration and benediction at OLMC parish once a month in Year A and every week in Year B.
Program Fees:
The yearly fees to cover the cost for our program are as follows:
- One child: $100
- Two children: $160
- Three or more: $190
- Children who belong to OLMC’s Stewardship Family: No Cost
- The fee for homeschooled children is: $30 per child
