I was in prison...

07-16-2017The Sisters Corner

“I was in prison and you came to see me” (Mt 25:35)

A few years ago, God invited us to visit Him through the women that were in prison. In our weekly visits, we sought to take them the mercy and closeness of God, who always looks at us as His children and believes in us. We gave them spiritual company and catechesis. We ask you for special prayers so they can always feel the company of Christ in their lives.

Jesus, Our Strength

07-09-2017The Sisters Corner

Continuing with what we shared last week about our chapel, we would like to share some thoughts about a few of the symbolisms that our chapel has. In almost all our chapels we usually use 2 materials: rock and wood. With those 2 materials, we want to show how our life and apostolate is to be.

As you look at the picture(in the bulletin), you can see the Lord is in the center of a stone wall. Our Lord is our rock and the foundation of our lives. Sometimes there are moments of joy and difficulties but the Lord is there, supporting us with His grace; the strength that we need for our own lives and in the service of others. Each stone in this wall is different and unique, in our community it is the same, each sister is unique and the Lord unites us as one heart.

We strive to remember that as the Lord is the Rock that has sustained our lives, His heart is always opened to us and giving of His love. The wood of our chapel seeks to remind us of this truth: His love is both strong and soft at the same time. We seek to serve others with these same two characteristics.

Please pray for us that we can always be opened to this special grace that Jesus gives us in the Blessed Sacrament, so we can always have Him in the center of our hearts and as the source of our apostolate.

Our Apostolate …Our Chapel

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. (John 14:13)

Today we want to share with you some good news! A month ago we inaugurated our chapel in our house. Jesus in the Eucharist is the daily source of our life and consecration, that’s why we have everyday moments of prayer (alone or in community) in which we want to seek and strengthen our friendship with the Lord as we pray for all the intentions that people ask us to pray.

If you have any intention that you want us to pray for, please let us know don’t hesitate to tell us directly or by email.

Our Apostolate Through Music

06-25-2017The Sisters Corner

Since the very beginning of our foundation, we have recognized music as a very important way to evangelize to Catholics, non-Catholics and even those who do not believe in God.

It is for this reason that we started a Musical Ministry called Siervas. Our songs seek to communicate about human experiences, trying to illuminate those experiences from the perspective of faith.

Our apostolate in Rome

06-18-2017The Sisters Corner

In 2006 we arrived at the heart of the Church: Rome. It has been a huge blessing to serve there through our charisma. Since the beginning of this foundation, one of our sisters has been a part of the teamwork of the Pontifical Council for Health Care. Which offers support with projects directed to the health care of people in the ethical and moral areas related to this subject. We also do pastoral care, catechesis, prayer groups in different parishes. We have programs of evangelization for families and the youth. Additionally, we help in Caritas, specifically in programs that help the immigrants.

Our Apostolate in the Philippines

06-09-2017The Sisters Corner

Our apostolate in the Philippines In 2003, the Lord wanted us to open our first community out of America, in the Philippines.

Our mission there is to teach in the schools and in the university. We assist with pastoral needs through retreats, spiritual journeys, Bible groups, conferences, leadership workshops, etc.

We have been helping in the area of pastoral care by: going to the hospital and giving spiritual accompaniment. Additionally, we have a project of catechesis and feeding for children that are poor, called “Feeding program”.

We also visit women that are in jail; we do mission trips to different islands that are in need such as Boho, Leyte and Batayan, (an island that was very much affected by a typhoon many years ago). With a group of volunteers we offer them aid in both material and spiritual ways for all their needs.

In these evangelization programs we have projects of spiritual accompaniment and solidarity missions. We have a kindergarten, where we teach our little brothers and sisters about faith. We conduct courses for Catholic leaders for the youth of 18 villages in the area and we also assist the local church through our participation in commissions of catechesis and areas related to health within the Dioceses.

We want to share with you our mission in Chile. We have three different communities in Santiago de Chile with varied kinds of missions.

One of the missions, that we work in is “Fundacion Las Rosas”, a Foundation that serves the elderly. Most of who have been abandoned by their families. At this institution we have received the gift of being able to accompany them in this very integral way. We believe it’s a very special mission to serve Jesus through them preparing their hearts to the encounter with God.

In the other two communities we work with young people that are in schools and in the university. We also work in different parishes giving catechesis for the sacraments, formation in faith and formation for volunteering and pastoral care.

As we are called by the Lord to serve the most needy people, we have a Pastoral and Solidarity Center named “Nuestra Señora de la Reconciliación” (Our Lady of Reconciliation) located in Tarifa (a very poor town of Guayaquil). With a group of volunteers we assist families that live there and give them a pastoral care through catechesis, preparing them for the sacraments, with courses of faith formation. We also seek to contribute to the social development of the people through human promotion with Labor Training Workshops.

Also, in Guayaquil, we have a center for young and adult women with mental disabilities called “Jacinta y Francisco”. We seek to educate and form them (along with their families) through the Catholic faith by providing them with everything necessary to maximize their skills and abilities so that in order to be socially and professionally integrated. This apostolate is with the help of a professional staff that is dedicated to the participants.

Our Missions in Other Countries

Our apostolate in Peru is called “Encuentra a Cristo”. In the city of Lima, one of the apostolic projects that we have is called “Encuentra a Cristo” (“Find Christ”) in which every week we go to visit, with a group of volunteers, those who are the forgotten, facing the hard life of living in the streets of the city.

For each one of us, as Servants of the Plan of God, it’s a pleasure to serve Jesus through them, asking us for help. We believe that God never forgets any of His children. He will do everything to have them return back to Him. We too want them to have the experience of God’s love. A love that always find us, even if we have committed mistakes. With the grace of God, we see many of them choosing the option of a better life and most importantly, a life with Jesus.
